DRY NEEDLING

Acupuncture needles are placed into symptomatic or hypertonic (tight) areas in a muscle to provide immediate relief in pain and an improvement in range of motion. A twitch response is often elicited indicating the release of a trigger point or muscle knot. This intervention is very potent for those athletes pushing their bodies to the limits and needing the fastest relief of pain and restoration of movement. 

MANUAL THERAPIES

Our hands reach deep into our toolbox to provide a comprehensive selection of evidence based manual therapy techniques to relieve pain, restore range of motion and regain power back to the system. Such manual therapies are adjuncts that give you that break you were looking for in order to get back-2-the very things responsible for longer term management. 

EXERCISE REHAB

Generalised programs based around exercises that ‘should’ help are not good enough for us. Clinical testing allows quantifiable data to create a footprint of where you are currently at, where you need to be, and most importantly, where you want to be! Every single rep, of every single set, for every single exercise is done so with clinical expertise to ensure accountability of results and a smooth trajectory towards optimal function. 

MOBILITY PROGRAMS

Movement imbalances within the body can cause unwanted stresses about a joint. This may increase vulnerability to injury over time. Tailoring a mobility program can ensure that you enhance your body’s healing environment whilst decreasing the chance of such injuries returning in the future. Never EVER underestimate the power and importance of flexibility for efficient and fluent movement.   

POSTURAL ANALYSIS

Some postures or alignments are fixed, some are transient and some are able to be altered. Our job is to assess if, and how particular postures, positions or angles  influence your pain. Research will tell us that every individual is wired differently, so leave it to us in telling you how best we can manage and educate you about the topic of posture. 

SHOCKWAVE

Radial Pressure waves produce an artificial stimulation to the tendon to begin a cascade of positive events which speed up and enhance the process by which a tendon heals and adapts.   

PRE & POST-SURGICAL REHABILITATION

1:1 Rehabilitation focusing on restoring range of motion & improving strength as you embark on the most pain-free proactive rehabilitative process ever.

RUNNERS DIAGNOSTIC & PERFORMANCE SCREEN

Let’s make this simple. What is going on and why is it going on? This screen will assess the integrity of your highlighted ‘hot spots’, whilst utilising mobility, strength and functional assessments to find where the energy leaks and vulnerabilities are. This screen is a must for those wanting to know if they have all the right things in place to make running efficient and free of worries.

RUNNING ANALYSIS

Slow motion video analysis helps to take a step back and see where the faulty patterns reside. Discussions with the physiotherapist on making some instant modifiable changes can make the difference between being told to simply rest or getting Back-2-Running.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

45 MINUTES

A thorough assessment will be performed. This first involves gaining a detailed insight into the background of your injury in order to let your story be heard and help to understand potential mechanisms for injury. A series of objective tests will be performed looking at things such as movement restrictions, strength deficits, functional limitations and joint integrity. A diagnosis can then be formulated and explained regarding your condition and a management plan can be put in place!

Need us to contact your coach, trainer or doctor? Not a problem! We pride ourselves on keeping all parties in the loop so that your injury can be best managed across every hour of your day, and every day in your week!

SUBSEQUENT APPOINTMENT / FOLLOW-UP

45 MINUTES

Subsequent appointments involve reviewing the injury and progressing the management. Management may be some manual therapy to restore function and manage pain, or it could be a hop, skip and jump onto the gym floor to progress your rehabilitation. Your physiotherapist will advise progressions in exercise or adjustments with work-related tasks to ensure that you have all the tools necessary to self-manage these injuries going forward!

What are our basic requirements for running? What are we missing? Do we need to push mobility in some places and add strength to others? This screen will tell you what is likely to be going on, and what we need to work on to fix it!

Working with your physiotherapist on the gym floor. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier to your appointment to allow a thorough warmup and stretch before beginning your session.

The ultimate starting point to not only becoming flexible, but becoming strong!. This is ‘step one’ to creating a tailored mobility, strength & conditioning program to satisfy the requirements and chaos that life throws at us! Our goal is to dissect the lower body joint-by-joint in finding the deficits and optimising the function.

FULL BODY MOVEMENT SCREEN

60 MINUTES

Feel stiff, sore and tight from top-to-tail? This is for you! Flexibility needs to be prioritised as the starting framework for which strength can be applied upon. This assessment looks at any mobility deficits and imbalances that may be putting additional load into places it shouldn’t be. Following this assessment, our goal is to restore equilibrium.
